David Lurie

Dr. Lurie is a native Zimbabwean. He received his Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2000. He then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery with an emphasis on medical oncology at the University of Illinois in 2001. He subsequently completed residencies in medical and radiation oncology at the University of California, Davis in 2003 and 2005 respectively.

Dr Lurie then went on to take a faculty position at the University of Florida where he was a founding member of the oncology program. He served in this capacity as the DavidLurie endowed chair for oncology for 4 years between 2005-2009. In August 2009 Dr Lurie moved to Miami to take up a position as head of oncology at Miami Veterinary Specialists and in December 2012 moved to Orlando to join Affiliated Veterinary Specialists as head of oncology.

In April 2017 he moved to Sydney to join the Animal Referral Hospital and establish the ARH Cancer Care service in Homebush. Dr. Lurie is extensively published in the field of canine lymphoma and has a strong interest in hemolymphatic neoplasia in dogs and cats as well as all types of tumors requiring radiation therapy, including those of the central nervous system.
