John Punke
DVM, MS
Dr. John Punke graduated from the Veterinary College at the University of Georgia as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Over the next 8 years, he then completed 2 years of rotating and surgical internships at the Hollywood Animal Hospital, a 2 year post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Georgia, and small animal surgery residency, clinical instructorship, and master’s degree at the University of Missouri.
John became a surgery specialist by passing the examination for the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2011. He became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2014.
John has authored 11 peer reviewed articles (8 of them as first author) and a book chapter, is a grant recipient, a journal reviewer, consultant for Veterinary Surgeon Boards, and has lectured at numerous national and international veterinary conferences.
John is adjunct at the University of Adelaide, and a member of the Greencross Vets Team as a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery at the Adelaide Animal Emergency and Referral Centre in South Australia.
