Rachel Chay


Rachel is a veterinary surgeon who spent 15 years in companion animal practice – both general practice and emergency and critical care. She is a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons in Feline Medicine and has completed a Masters in Human Resources and Organisational Development.

For seven years prior to joining the APVMA, she worked for Greencross as the General Manager of Education and later as Chief Veterinary Officer. Rachel is passionate about the veterinary profession and people within it. She is enjoying continuing her “non-clinical” career in leadership roles serving the veterinary community. Rachel relocated to Armidale, NSW to join the APVMA as Director of the Veterinary Medicines team in March 2019. She is an unapologetic crazy cat person who also happens to be a mother of four humans.
